The Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club was founded in 1946 when the two clubs which existed before the war combined. The club has always been based on the present site (in Nicholas Everitt Park). The clubhouse was built in 1966 and replaced the earlier small, thatched roofed building. The present building includes changing rooms, canteen, bar with lounge that overlooks the broad, and the race control room.
