The latest news in via Mum Margaret is that "Lizzy is in the AIS ‘dead zone’ navigating traffic through the shipping lanes in the Channel. The forecast is for an Easterly wind 4 to 6 with possible thunderstorms. Hopefully she will be in AIS contact off France this evening.
“There is a gale warning for the Bay of Biscay. Looking at the GRIB files Lizzy should escape the worst of it, but will have a strong Easterly wind and moderate to rough sea state.
”We will be able to estimate arrival time when we have AIS contact. The passage has been extremely long due to 3 days of very light winds in the Irish Sea.
“The advised time is 10 days, which will be Friday at 2.30 pm. She should make it in before then.”
